Epiligh Technology Co., Ltd was founded in April 2000 and was the first domestic enterprise pioneered in the research and manufacturing of gallium nitride-based blue light epitaxial wafers and chips.With registered capital of RMB 200 million Yuan, its main shareholders are IRICO Group Corp., Heilongjiang Dazheng Investment Group Co., Ltd, Haerbin Dazheng Ivestment Co.,Ltd, Shanghai Pudong Technology Investment Co., Ltd, Shanghai Zhangjiang Ventures Investment Co.,Ltd, Shanghai Zhangjiang Hi-tech Co., Ltd, Technology Research Development Division of Peking University.
Located in Shanghai Zhangjiang national Hi-tech Park, Epilight was one of the technology transfer receivers to commercialize the technical achievements from the Optoelectronics Project of National High Technology Program (863 Plan). The technology ?commercailization of gallium nitride-based high-brightness luminescent materials was identified as one of the national engineering demonstration project for of new materials by the National Development and Reform Commission as well as the Shanghai high-tech transformation project. Currently, Epilight has total capital investment of RMB 400 million YUAN and 200 employees. The main products are gallium nitride-based high-brightness blue and green EPI wafers and LED chips.
The technology of Epilight is based on the major technological achievements, undertaken by Peking University, of the Optoelectronics Project from National High Technology Program (863 Plan). After more than two years of efforts, these achievements have been successfully industrialized. Up to now, Epilight has five EPI wafer and chip processing lines, and yearly manufacturing capacity amounts to 1000million 12mil chips. In recent years, Epilight has recruited many professional staffs from the USA and Taiwan. With first-class equipments, technologies and professional staffs, Epilight has advanced the technology and product quality to the international level.
